BadBadNotGood is an instrumental jazz trio from Toronto. III is their third release and the first one that has all original material. Their previous releases featured covers of various hip hop acts such as A Tribe Called Quest, Old Dirty, Dilla and Kanye West. They have also worked with rappers such as Danny Brown and Earl Sweatshirt and done remixes for Madlib and Freddie Gibbs. Very impressive considering they are under the age of 25.

While their earlier material was a little more energetic they seem to have concentrated more on the composition for III. The album blends elements of jazz, funk, electronic and hip hop. The songs on the album build up and flow comfortably without trying to do more than they need to. They have made an album that sounds more mature than their previous work and sets expectations high for future releases.
