I recently stumbled into the world of K-hip-hop, and there’s one artist I just can’t get enough of. Hyoi is a mid-twenties rapper and singer from Seoul. She has a couple of years’ worth of work out, but no official solo album, yet. I suspect one is coming soon.

Hyoi has the bravado and attitude of a battle rapper, plus some of the catchiest hooks I’ve ever heard. She switches between English and Korean in her verses and choruses. The lyrics themselves aren’t always the strongest, but her delivery is so good that I can look past that and just vibe with it.

At the time of writing, Hyoi’s latest single is “U Can,”. It is produced by Ai BANCO who now has several songs with Hyoi. All are high quality productions that are have more of a pop style than here previous work.

You can find Hyoi on YouTube and other platforms at @thatgirlhyoi.
