Over the last 3 months, Peanuts and Corn head honcho McEnroe, has been releasing a two tracks a month. This is a build up to an official album later this year. Now at 6 tracks it’s worth a listen.
Almost 25 years on from his classic album Disenfranchised not much has changed. Delivering most his raps first person, McEnroe has always been emotionally honest. Observing the state of things and giving his point of view. Not angry, begrudgingly accepting what it is, McEnroe often sounds nostalgic and disappointed. Questioning if he is an anarchist or just an analyst. These are all familiar feelings.
McEnroe’s signature production always sounds punchy and fresh. Not sure he ever strayed for his sound but this new music is classic McEnroe.
